Las Vegas Landmarks
Sin City’s initial intention was to attract tourists from various places to provide an unparalleled entertainment experience – and part of this project came to life with the great casinos. Many of them contain replicas in Las Vegas of famous monuments from around the world.
There are several hotel-casinos on the city’s most famous avenue, the Las Vegas Strip, that is themed after a specific country or city. This list will help you know where to find the most famous replicas to decide which ones to visit on your trip.
Enjoy Romantic Venice
There’s no need to fly to Italy – you can visit Venice at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. The emblematic hotel has been an iconic landmark on the Las Vegas Strip since it first opened in 1999.
The resort features Venetian-style architecture, as well as replicas of many landmarks, including the Piazza San Marco, the Palazzo Ducale, Piazzetta di San Marco, the Lion of Venice Column and the Column of Saint Theodore, St Mark’s Campanile and the Rialto Bridge.
The fresh romance of Venice comes to Vegas when the gondoliers make it a magical experience with their singing and serenades. I am sure you won’t forget it. Everything was designed to make you feel like you were actually in an Italian city. Besides Venice’s canals and the gondola rides, you will also be able to see street performances and food from authentic Italian restaurants.
Be Charmed By Paris
The Eiffel Tower is the most famous attraction at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and one of the best-known replicas in Las Vegas. The monument is more than 140 meters high – practically half the size of the original Eiffel Tower, located in Paris, France.
Constructed in 1999, Paris Las Vegas has attracted more than 10 million visitors. The Eiffel Tower replica also has an observation deck and a restaurant offering 360-degree views of the entire city.
If you’re in the mood for something more interactive, you can listen and sing along to Napoleon’s Dueling Pianos for free. You can see one more thing here — the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc De Triomphe is a replica of the famous landmark in Paris, France, and is located near the entrance to the Paris Las Vegas hotel-casino.
The original Arc De Triomphe monument honors the victories of the French army under Napoleon’s orders. It is located right next to the replica of the Eiffel and I am sure it’s worth registering the monument with a nice photo. It will be an incredible memory for you!
Get To Know Cairo
Have you ever wanted to see the sphinxes of Egypt but didn’t have the opportunity to travel there yet? Come see the sphinxes at Luxor Pyramid. The glass-covered Luxor Hotel and the giant sphinx guarding its entrance truly are Las Vegas icons.
Unlike all of the other Vegas replicas on this list, the Sphinx is actually taller (by two stories) than the original in Cairo, Egypt. The only big difference is that the replica sphinx has the entire nose! At night, don’t miss noticing the beam of light emanating from the top of the Luxor. It’s truly a sight to contemplate!
Apart from the sphinxes, you will also find the replica of the pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The four sides of the pyramid represent ancient Egyptian principles. It is another must that you can’t miss!
Oh, It’s New York, Baby!
One of Vegas’s most famous landmarks is the Statue of Liberty which was built in 1997. New York-New York Hotel recreates the Manhattan skyline right in Las Vegas. The replica of the statue measures 45 meters in height, while the original measures around 105 meters. This is one of the most famous tourist spots there.
Other replicas that can be seen at the hotel are The Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge, as well as several buildings representing the famous skyscrapers of New York. The Manhattan-inspired decor at the entrance is also part of the show.
The hotel really makes you feel like you are in a miniature of New York with so many details that remind you of the city. It’s a replica that you can’t miss if you’re driving down Las Vegas Boulevard.
